The river Ottery, tributary of the Tamar and ancient border between Cornwall and Devon, runs for approximately 1½ miles throught he farm and offers good trout fishing. Salmon can also occasionally be caught at some times of the year. The fishing rights are leased to the nearby Arundell Arms Hotel, who specialise in fishing holidays, but we have one rod reserved for our own guests providing we give a few days notice (fly fishing only). We can also arrange fly fishing lessons for the beginner. Notice required.
The small stream known as Bolesbridge Water offers about a mile of fishing of any type. Ideal for children. At any time of the year, the Tamar Valley is a beautiful place to walk or fish. The wildlife to be seen along it include deer, badgers, moorhen, kingfishers, buzzards and sometimes even otters. In fact the Ottery was recently used in the BBC - Wildlife on One - production ' Otters the truth'. Should coarse fishing
appeal to you, or the certainty of catching some really big fish, there
are a number of well-stocked fishing lakes locally, one within three miles
of the farm. CLAY PIGEON SHOOTINGWhy not try your
